Thank you to you inspiration guys who have put quality time into your DIY builds.
Looks like you have put good quality time in there.
Love the really long ones - 8 footers?
Yes Nozza, am using 25mm structural ply. 3 out of full sheet.
To match your Biscuit the kids have made PufferFish n BatFish @360mm wide with 195 Paris trucks and soft bushes .
Yes .... more style and shapes on the way. I have my Transit back here again, it's so easier to mobile work shop from.
Big thank you to those who PM me re funding.
We are running this as kids funding kids empowering gig.
The biggest item you can give these folks out here is positive learning experiences .
So some history on us,
we work remote health,
got into StreetSUP ( 58" Kahuna's ) as fitness tool ( neither of us had owned a skateboard ) when working remote desert community's on 3 mth on,2 weeks off roster to make the most of surf time. It worked, I ,went from 10'2 to 9'5 to 8'6 sup in 9 mths.
Then our DesertSup journey started when we missed a break for wife's B'day. And the christening of her new 8'0 7S superfish.
So... on a stores/ pharm run to Alice I ducked into Home hardware got them to rip a 360mm x 2.4 strip off a sheet of 25mm structural ply . Back to Papunya, used her fish for template , spare 195 Paris trucks and wheels,
ta da.... 8'0 fish for B'day ride. 7km round trip to airstrip on dead end road.
We were sharing our board's with local kids ,noticed high wear n tear, thought kids needed to be more aware their actions, pay for their actions .
Thus started them and I on this skateboard n recycling path .
I started this post as a thank you for inspiration to you guys who have put quality time into your DIY builds . And DIY inavation.
Hopefully we will give you a laugh with our past n future AtitSK8 adventure
Sorry that I haven't got to put up some builds,
work and locals ceremony/ sorry business, seems to have disappeared the start of this year.
So I'm getting some water time at OG for 3 weeks,
Hopefully we'll get a bunch of builds done next month.
