1st proper sup surf on on the 1125 then switched to the 1550v2 on super tiny nearly flat waves/swell today less then 6" (using my Foil Drive) hardly any wind, pretty smooth, no one out but me on a submerged reef on almost peak high tide & managed to get up & ride/pump my 95L S26 Wing Board for a bit (5 - 20meters) for half a dozen waves or so and the 1125 was pretty good, felt nice & fast but could not maintain height but what I could felt good, then I went in and put the 1550v2 on and it seemed slower but with a bit more lift/glide & the tide was getting higher & going flat. So I just want to know of any other experiences or tips regarding surfing & pumping the 1125 in small waves (& also for bigger waves/swell etc?:-) Thanks
I started using the 1125 last summer almost daily and once dialed in, it worked great for me in small to medium waves. I was off the water for several months and just started again and the 1125 seems very difficult.
My take away is that it is a very technical foil to ride well and (at least for me, the skills required deteriorate quickly).
The 1125 is very sensitive to depth and you must really keep it high in the water. It also needs to be as horizontal as possible which is challenging because it is so pitch sensitive and tends to dive as it gets push from a wave.
Pumping requires gentle, high frequency taps.
Having said all that when you get it right, it is amazing and well worth the time and effort.

Yes thanks emma I have been also told the same thing today, also just wondering would the 1850 be a better option for easy small wave riding maybe?:-)
I use the 1850 in small weak waves and it is easy and turns well. I need better waves for the 925 but haven't tried the 1125

Yes I think the 925 is identical to the 1125 just a bit bigger / longer wing span as I have seen:-)
Rode both the 1250 and 1125 in 20-30 knots. A local Armstrong rep let me borrow the 1125, and today had perfect conditions to wing and do side by side testing. Both foils rode fast. The 1250 is easier to carve rail to rail. The 1125 was a little faster and had more glide. I can definitely see its utility for downwind runs. The 1125 felt really smooth cutting through chop, and was surprised me by how little power was needed to keep it going. I was constantly spilling wind trying to get a stall, but it easily milked the wave power. This felt completely different from the 1250. So the increased efficiency really stood out. Unfortunately while exiting the beach, I hit a rock
just before getting to stomach deep water. It left a noticeable gouge so I guess I'll have to buy the 1125 and do some wet sanding. At least I got to try beforehand.
Board: 75 L Armie FG/ foil placed at #6 in box
Foil: 85 mast/ 60 fuse/ 232 tail/ +1 shim
Wing: 4.8 m PPC, Weight: 90kg
4.8 PPC in 20-30 knots I am well impressed
. @105kg I am on the 2.8 and a 1000cm2 foil in that sort of wind.

Most days it's lite(10-15 knots), so I can get by just owning one wing. Yesterday was the 1% day. I don't trust the flimsy leash in 30ish gusts, so had to constantly wrestle with the handles. Didn't want to be stuck offshore if the sail broke loose. Would have been brutal paddling into those head winds.
Flimsy leash? PPC right? It's a pretty strong bit of rope ? Good luck breaking that ? Although where it joins the Velcro attachment point could be a weak point for sure.
Final thoughts on 1125. Definitely easier to over foil compared to the 1250 in extreme winds. With the 1250, it's so easy to rip turns it doesn't feel like there's a top end. I didn't quite get that from the 1125. The 1125 was a tad harder to get started, seemed like the 1250 was easier when it's really rough. 1125 requires better technique to manage. It's definitely a keeper.
