Does anyone know if you can still foil with just one kidney? If so how much will it affect performance?
I am trying to weigh up the performance benefit of selling a kidney to buy a new Axis Tempo setup or keeping both kidneys and my current setup. ![]()
Calculations I did from prices listed in USD on the axis website come to $4088 AUD for a front wing, fuse and tail ![]()
No mast with that that's just the plane!
Yeah it's an expensive bit of kit but that Titanium fuse is a work of art same with the figment of the front wing. The monobloc stab is just so streamlined . It looks expensive ![]()
Wow that's expensive, guess it has to be so the 7 paying customers can support the 900 team riders ;)

Ha ha ha ![]()
yeah does look like a great bit of kit. I like the Ti Link fuse system. Can change the front wing with just 2 bolts and can leave the fuse attached to the mast, would be nice and convenient but the site currently lists it at about $1500 just for the fuse connection.

Basically the same connection as Gong. Save the kidneys.
Substitute "testicle" for "kidney." Bet the Gong seems just fine!
Speaking of which, falling on the Tempo looks like there's a good chance of loosing one the above. Scary.
You will see prices go up across the board with the high end foils as the carbon content and quality has dramatically increased to keep the stiffness in these crazy high AR foils , Axis is about to drop foils with AR's over 20 ( just mental ) I did an interview with Adrian at the AWSI can't release it yet until products in the video are released at end of year , he basically explained . Std Carbon went to High Modulus then to Ultra High Modulus and now to this new super high end carbon where they vari the angle of the twill to give additional strength in various parts of the foil , super high tech . I have attached a video with Damien LeRoy at the AFS factory in France they give a good run down on this process. This allows for much stiffer wings with super narrow cords that keep even tension over the entire wing span. I test rode these Axis foils at Hood river and you immediately feel the stiffness and efficiency of these foils. ( Disclaimer nothing to with Axis ) definitely targeted at the races for now but we will see the same filter down into surf wings.

You are so right
