Any word if Naish might becoming out with a bigger wing than the 4m wing? Currently have the 4m wing but for heavier riders like myself definitely need a bigger wing hopefully 6m or 7m for lighter days. The 4m fine if you live in Maui,WA or the gorge but really think they missed the mark on sizing 1st time around like trying to kite with a 1 kite quiver just ain't happening! Like the build quality of the 4m,usual Naish build and it's light which is important winging.I had to get a 7m Gong wing which has great low end for us big guys but my main complaint is it's weight almost same weight as my 12m boxer for kitefoiling,if they made it lighter Gong woulda hit a home run with this wing, kinda hard wrestling that 7m gorilla, however it does have pretty nice flying characteristics I must say, kudos to Gong for being the 1st to make a big wing for sure, maybe coming version might be lighter!Anyway my hope is Naish might be making a bigger wing as been riding Naish kites close to 20yrs and it seems that they would be capable of making a lighter big wing based on what I see with my 4m wing, perhaps might be some info from you guys down under as it seems like you guys get the Naish gear before us here in the states, have not heard a thing from Naish regarding bigger wings but hoping maybe on the forum here might have a inside track? Thanks

Yes, Gong advise beginners to get the 5m first, even if they are heavyweight. Handling a 7m is easier with some experience, it is not the best way to begin.
The season has only just really started, and I think crew are getting their Wing skills up. Most will find the 4m more than adequate. I am blown away by the wind range I get from it. But like all sports as they grow the amount of gear available will increase. I am sure for next season there'll be some more options. But for now, I love the one wing option. I ride in next to nothing all the way up to nuking conditions on the Wing-Surfer - too easy with just one choice.
Technique is everything, and once you work it all out, light wind is a breeze.
Ride safe,
JB

Agree. I have the 4m Wasp and it gets going on a big wing in very light wind. Not sure I want a bigger one, sort of like big kites - the drawbacks out weigh the benefits.
Tend to agree once your skills are up the 4m pretty well covers it. Using a 5 after using the 4 for ages is like holding onto a side of a barn. BUT the a slighter larger wing to learn does help.
I think a larger foil is a better alternative to get going earlier. It is so much fun cruising in next to nothing on the Naish Jet 2450. ![]()

I think you have a Smik board which may help.

I maxed out at 107kg. But have shaved a few kegs since then. Weight can be a big tax, but technique can override majority of it.

Why get a bigger wind wing when a bigger foil wing can be at least half the price & a bigger windwing can be heavier on arms & shoulders.
Makes sense to me unless I want to go hang gliding when going over the crest of a big wave in off shore winds.![]()
Wondering if that's been tried?![]()

Back to OP question anyone have any idea if Naish might be coming out with a bigger wing than the 4m wing definitely at 105 kg think for me and many other heavier riders need one,and with 20yrs kiting 5 of it foiling 2 yrs sup foiling know what I need in my local area especially this time of year know what I need when it comes to wing/kite size.Fone and Ozone are both coming out with a bigger wings and hate to see Naish which I've been flying for close to 20yrs be left behind here personally I would like a 5-6m added on to the existing 4m platform.currently riding GF M200/280 and a GL240 winging depending on conditions not much bigger out there there wingwise,I like my 4m wing in 20-30 mph but sub 20 with my weight would prefer a little more oomp low end power! So maybe JB or other Naish guys here might know if a bigger Naish wing is in the works or do I have to consider the other brands to get a bigger wing I'd rather wait for a new bigger brother to the Naish4m wing if ones in the works?

Why not get both and maximise your capability.
Drag - That's why! Apparent wind is far more efficient on low drag options.
I believe there is some larger wings in the works. As always, Naish is R&D'ing the Fark out of it as most large wings are absolute dogs. I know the new Naish designer, and engineers are messing with some really fuct up shyte at the moment.
But for now, I believe our 4m is the most versatile and easy to use (and available
).

I would be very surprised if Naish doesn't come out with a larger wing. Hopefully they have larger sizes in the New Year. 4m i think is best for most riders in the upper teen and 20 knot windrange. Some manufactures already have larger sizes. I know myself I want a larger wing for that 12-18knt range and I am sure other riders feel the same way.
I suppose for the heavier riders it makes sense. Probably around 95kgs plus.
I would say the bigger wings will be in demand even for the light to mid weights and definitely for the heavy weight riders.

Agree 100% with all my experience/decades in wind sports you have to have different size sails, kites and wings for different wind conditions rider weights etc too many variables to rely on solely 1 size, and be imo not a good move on naishs part to only produce one 4m wing especially with all the interest that winging is getting these days so hoping naish is moving in that direction! With that said they probably need a smaller wing too for lightweights as 4m might be pushing it in 25-30 knts for lighter riders, especially foiling,if you want to ride alot 1 wing quivers gonna be tough just like kiting, windsurfing, sup, surfing let's face it pretty hard to be to subscribe to 1 kite, wing, sail, or board quiver! But too each his own certainly does not work for me.Anyway keeping my fingers crossed that naish get on it quickly like the other big kite brands are already doing!
