Yes great design innovation , props for that but you can't even ride a wake with it. This would get very boring / tiring very quickly . It's like when we set up the bungy cord for flat water foiling everyone is beat and over it in under an hour. Surely they could tune this so you can wake surf it then it would be the greatest wake thieving set up ever. Oh I forgot to mention the price $7,076 AUD
does not include the board
How is this gamechanging? It's just these old things from 60's or whenever these old videos were taken. (this is the only reference I could find since I have no idea what to search for, but I have seen multiple versions of these contraptions from back then)www.instagram.com/p/CGqU4Z-DrW7/?hl=en

Thanks for that Rob.. ya big party pooper.. ![]()
You're right though .. Maybe it's something for the rich energiser bunnys.. But I still like it.
When the creator a middle aged man can pump around for 2 and a half hours I'd say it's a game changer. Wait till a young gun does 5 hours on this thing. Just shows how much more improvement is possible with current designs when applied to a specific purpose. Kind of feels like we're at the beginning of the foil golden age!
The Beta foil is cool but the Aquaskipper was the original dock start pump lord ![]()
Wow, I wonder why that never caught on?![]()
Pumping in and of itself is a pretty poor quality exercise for the body compared to something like SUP paddling or even windsports. Used like the Wake Thief is (killing time waiting for your kid), the Beta Foil looks awesome. Can think of plenty of better uses for that many $ though...
A huge innovation step from technical perspective.
Maybe the thrill is gone now...? What is the thrill?
Will people buy this if they know they will break 10 mins easily now?
Will people pay the requested price for this -assumably - single use product?
...
I'd rather spend the money on something like the Takuma foil assist product -- it's a jet, which is the only type of propulsion for foiling that is legal where I am. I suspect it can be used for flat water pumping, light wind winging and DW SUP foiling. That seems way more practical and cost effective to me. If the Takuma foil assist actually works as advertised I'll sell my e-foil.
I've watched videos of foilers flat water pumping for long periods of time and after awhile it looks boring -- not taking anything away from the skill and stamina it takes but after 45 minutes, now what? Maybe racing would inject some spice back into it.
"Looks like the beginning of a new sport" Exactly what it is, this is definitely not your traditional dock start setup. This is something completely different, a new genre to the foiling universe. Just when you think we had all the bases covered, Bang! Another innovation, what a great time to be alive. Now put it on a Barracuda, and let's see how easy flat water paddle ups are.
Not for me ,too specialized and expensive...but they sold out the first batch.

Just wait for the cheap Asian knock off in the future:-)

Really? Can't?! Oh well...
Another year or two and perhaps we'll have options that can...

I thought this was the funniest thing ever until I realized that it's probably how I look when I'm foiling
. Fortunately it's too much fun for me to care
