Ok so firstly I am no sup foil expert just a bystander but to me this is the best sup surf foil ride I have seen as of yet. He rides the wave for over 2 and a half minutes and when the vid finishes he is still going he is just getting too far away for the filmer to bother with!!
I feel this also shows the functionality of the foil. as the wave continually backs off and then walls up again the foil is the only craft that could have stayed on the wave ( except possibly a massive race board but that wouldn't have the agility)
To me this is the best I have seen yet and who else to do it but the pioneer of so many epic rides- the man- Laird!!!
(If anyone knows of any vids that trump this one please post I would love to see it)
Pretty impressive. I would prefer to be on a wave face (he says having never tried it...) but when the waves don't break, a 2 minute flight sure looks fun. Just ordered my foil so I look forward to giving it a go.
What I think is so cool about this vid is he has been riding the wave for a full 2minutes plus before it turns into something remotely rideable on a normal craft, you can see when he reaches the surfers right at the end that is where a conventional board would catch it from.
I think this serves to illustrate that foiling is not about riding the waves you already ride in a different way it is about getting amazing rides-on the waves you could never ride before

I bought the "FoilSUP Naish Thrust Surf Foil Complete L 2018" from Warwick at Kite Republic! Warwick is kindly going to help organize for a proper fin box to be installed in my Naish 8'8 X32, and I will use a stick-on bracket on the Raptor.
