hi folks, wondering if anyone has chopped their ha 195 tail. Im finding that it doesn't want to get in or out of turns easy paired with the ha 925 front wing. Has anyone chop shopped theirs ? Thought it might turn easier with less span. Anyway would be good to get some feed back . Thanks in advance.
Chopped down to 13" and it turns better but you lose a little pump on the bottom end. The chopped tail on the 60 fuse turns about the same as the unchopped tail on the 50 fuse but you don't have the pitch sensitivity of the 50 fuse. Great for towing when you have speed and want to be less locked in for turns. I think a better solution is a tail the same width as the chopped one (13") but with more camber to keep the bottom end pump.
From what I hear that is the new 180 but it's wider than the unchopped 195 ?? so that leaves the dart 140 but it doesn't pump as good either ? So maybe a chopped 180 ? Who wants to do it and let me know ![]()

awesome. thanks Kobo. Ive only tried it with the 60 fuse. Will try on the 50 fuse before I get the saw to it. See how it goes
Or try the new 180 speed tail. I should have one tomoz so cant wait to try it out. Ive been down the chop rabbit hole - im not a fan hey. If it doesnt work as you want then find something else. Or adjust your riding.
Whatever you chop takes away something about the overall design and performance. So i say NO CHOP.
Thanks Eppo. Can give us your thoughts when you try the 180 speed ? Im prone foiling at the moment but will be getting into winging soon.
I find when going from the 60 fuse to the 50 fuse, adding a blue shim on top of you are using on the 60 will give the 50 a similar feel. Takes away the pitchiness but makes the bigger HA's heaps easier to tip in and out of turns.
Maybe try one of your mates KD tail as you have tried everything else of mine. Just go and buy the rest of the armstrong tail range so I can try one for once.

Adding in a blue shim when on the 50? That wont help with the pitch?

That'll make it more pitch sensitive and looser in feel.
