Hi.
I had my first wing foil session a couple of days ago on the Duotone Echo 6.0 and my Naish Hover 142 windfoil board with the foot straps removed.
Got up and foiling on my second run with the i99 on a 15 inch mast. about 90 minutes of runs and then I was exhausted.
Blown away with how much fun it felt and how all the previous sports of Kiting, SUP , windsurfing and foiling came together. Chomping at the bit to get out again.
My Hover 142 worked but the lack of pads past the front foot strap area means my knees are sore as hell and the non slip has worn areas of my wetsuit and roughed areas of my wing already.
Now, I'm 110 kgs and that was in a 15-20mph wind and the 6 worked very well. Able to get upwind and pump onto foil quite easily. I felt almost immediately that i wanted a front strap to help pumping.
Im looking to get a dedicated wing foil board and want an honest opinion on volume.
My 142 floated ok but its 77cm wide and with the round deck it felt a bit tippy. The length was ok but I could see that it was too long.
Most of the Wing boards are less than 140 litres and I hear stories that you grow out of a big wing board quite quickly.
Im looking at the Gong ZUMA 6'9 (205 cm) at 140 litres.
Are there any other heavy riders riding 100 -140 litre boards?
We don't have waves, its mostly wind chop with the occasional 3-4 swell.
Cheers
+10 is a pretty good guide for an experienced wingdinger. Maybe a few more sessions on the board you have then something about 120 to 130.

I have been following your windfoiling on your YouTube channel, and am going down the same route as you. Is windfoiling being cancelled for you?
