I have been learning with the 2400 and am pleased with my progress so hesitant to change anything right now but also curious about my 1600. How much low end will I lose and does the 1600 pump better than the 2400?
Thanks
The 2400 will get on foil much much sooner compared to the 1600. I would also not think of replacement, but addition. You can keep the 2400 for light conditions and learning and the 1600 for progression and stronger conditions. Also, if I were you I would probably look more towards the 1550 instead of the 1600. This will give you much more possibilities in the future. And if you still have the 2400 you should be good in lighter conditions.
The 1600 is a fun wingding foil. It will need slightly more wind than the 2400 but turns way better. Was good with the +1 shim. 1550 has way less lift but is faster.

Hilly or anyone who has a HS1550 and CF2400. Do you use both wings for winging still and under what circumstances? I have the HS1550 but thinking about a bigger wing for lighter days, or won't I see much difference between the two? I'm 85KG and predominantly winging. Thanks!
Massive difference. The 2400 is better in light wind for me being 105kg, I struggle to get the 1550 going below 15 knots. The 2400 is slower, more stable and will get over done easily in a gust or dropping into a wave compared to the 1550. With the +1 shim it is super fun for small waves and light wind. I am getting the 1850 and would recommend you do to unless you want to get out in sub 10 knot conditions. It will be faster and better turning with more lift than the 1550. I use a chopped 232 tail. A bigger tail will give you a lower bottom end especially with the 0 shim.

I have and use both the 2400 and 1550. I use the 2400 in very light conditions and only exclusively with a 5m wing. I also use it for learning transitions as it is a very stable platform which is still relatively fast. In downwinders I also use it when the waves are really small and lack power.
As soon as the wind picks up I swap down to the 1550 (with a 4m wing). It is faster (+5k per hours or so) and more responsive. I also use this wing for jumping. I find the 2400 is really big (too big) when it hits the water.
The 1850 might be a nice one in the middle. As soon as it is in I'll test it extensively...
Hope this helps...

Thanks Hilly. Good info!
Interested in light wind (10-18knots) winging, weigh 76-78kg, prefer windsurfing over 18knots.
Not after high-speed, maybe downwinding down the track.
What would be the best of the following combos:
4m wing and 2400 foil
4m wing and 1850 foil
5m wing and 1550 foil
5m wing and 1600 foil

I'm 82kg on a CF1600 for prone foiling and have fought the massive temptation to build a quiver. For surfing it goes fine.... got a 4'8 30 litre board.
I've just ordered the 5.5m A-Wing and bought a massive 7'5 135 litre fSUP (cheap) to learn on. I'd rather spend the money to learn fast on the right gear than have a long learning curve. I hope To be ordering a smaller custom board when I get the hang of it.
Ill be kitesurfing on a surfboard if over 18knots - so from 10-18knots I want to be surfing waves using the 5.5m wind wing. Is the CF1600 the right wing or should I be on a CF2400 ?

Not for long ![]()
10 knots is ambitious. 15 knots and above fine to start with on the 1600. Once you get better you will lower that.
Waves, above waist high, and the 2400 are problematic. So if you want to ride bigger waves stay on the 1600 or get the 1850 which is a quantum leap forward for winging. 5.5 plus 1850 will get you up in close to 10 knots with good pumping technique.
Oh and get the 850 mast too.
Is there much of an overlap between the 1850 and 1600 ? If I was to only buy one more wing then maybe it's the 1250!?Constant model updates does my head in ! Got 14 surfboards and still can't surf like Kelly Slater...

A little

If you have strong wind or bigger waves
