hi. buying a j24 which has hull damaged on starboard side near the bow. it was a small plate sized whole which has been professionally repaired so seems in good shape.

should this be a cause for concern when buying the boat or getting it insured?

if done properly you shouldnt know its been done

You don't say if above or below waterline. For me yes as the hull is balsa cored I would want to make sure no moisture or rot

You can buy them so cheap now why buy one that's been repaired.
