Anyone know any more details?
i had a fire quickly get out of control about a year ago. the stove is positioned in a place where its very hard to get a funnel or meths into the stove. id sometimes spill a bit at anchor. To add to this, next to the stove is a light and a speaker. wiring.
So id filled the stove, spilled a bit of meths, lit the stove, then the meths on the bench top burned. I didnt think there was much and it would burn off, but there was a lot i didnt see/know of. The wiring caught fire and the fire got gnarly. Extinguished it and made a right bloody mess. took hours to clean not to mention , replacing wiring., covering it better with conduit and i now will only fill the stove by removing it from its bracket first and doing it outside. Scared the crap out of me.
I looked for more info about this since knowing what happened would no doubt be constructive and found this. Gulp.
A bit of a warning to take care.

A family purchased a boat, top up the tanks, ready to cast off ,

A yacht destroyed by fire in Victoria Harbour, Docklands this afternoon was bought by its owner this morning.
The vessel was to be moored at the Yarra's Edge Marina for 12 months. The luxury yacht is believed to have cost more than a million dollars.
The fire on the fibreglass yacht sent acrid smoke over the city this afternoon as firefighters battled to stop it spreading to other vessels in the harbour.
An MFB spokesman said four people have been evacuated from the 27-metre yacht, which was moored at Central Pier, near Harbour Esplanade.
