Hi all.
Waiting for the weather window to depart.
Maybe leave for Garbo Island tomorrow and then on to Lakes Entrance .
Maybe wait another day?
Any thoughts from my friends?
On my mooring at Bundeena
I have used an anchorage about 5 mile North of Cape Howe, called Zit Bay as its sheltered by Black Head when its blowing hard from the West or South West.
Best to wait in Eden for a weather window that will get you around the corner and through to Wilsons Prom non stop.
Best not to rely on being able to cross a barway (such as Lakes Entrance) when voyage planning.

Lakes Entrance bar is quite well marked, maintained and open, but it is always the skipper's call. It is half-way on your journey if the weather windows are problematic.
There's also good information on wave height and tides at Lakes Entrance at gippslandports.vic.gov.au/boating/waves-tides-weather/.

Departed Eden 7-30am Thursday arrived Port Albert 3-30 this afternoon..
Mostly motorsailed. 206 nautical miles in 32 hours.
Now waiting for another weather window.
Spend a night in Refuge Cove, Wilson's Prom. It's beautiful and sheltered.
After that Cleeland Bight (eastern part of Phillip Island) is sheltered, and a well-marked entrance.
......or hop onto the two days of easterlies forcast in a day or two and get a non-stop fast (maybe a tad bumpy) ride right to PPB or beyond!
Hi all,
Sorry it taken me so long to get back to you.
I was holed up in Eden for three days and then two in Refuge Bay. We then arrived in Port Albert where we had a week due to bad weather. We change our plans and continued on overnight passages.
We eventually did six. The last one being Portland Bay to Port Adelaide which was approximately 280 miles in 54 hours.
The trip was planned to take three weeks. We accomplished it in 23 days with the boat unmarked.
Probably due to rough weather we lost our bow thruster. Later our AIS stopped transmitting at 4pm one afternoon. I reset it and it started again. Finally our autopilot stated behaving badly. Again closed it down, and then it started working properly.
Had such a great time. This Moody41 handled 30 knots well. We had 35 knots which fortunately occurred with our main right down.
I really stuck to sailing safely and only choose to go out in forecasted strong winds after having a good appreciation of the boat.
If anyone wants a hand with a delivery on the east coast, please message me or you will find me on Findacrew.
