Two threads deleted in one week where the topics were of a technical nature.

Is this like the surveillance of the population being done in China today??????

The Sailing Forum has been a generally peaceful place not requiring moderation.

Would the moderator of the Sailing Forum please identify him/her self and clearly define the rules as applicable to this section of the Seabreeze Forums??

These rules have always been here. Kind of over looked in HW, but usually well observed here except of late.

So who locked those threads cisco? It was me. Yes, the sailing forum generally follows the forum rules, but it is far from not requiring moderating. When the chest beating starts I can assure you it gets ugly quickly. Usually it happens late at night, but hey I am in WA so not as late as the east coast and I get a chance to jump on issues before the east side wakes up. I guess you are still enjoying the easter cheer.

As for my role as a mod on this forum, I was appointed by Laurie some years back. Yes, years.... I decided at the time not to reveal my appointment for what was though to be the better good to the sailing forum community. You cisco, were part of that consideration. You were/are seemingly anti moderation and I thought you had a lot to offer the forum and I didn't want you to leave. You were not the only one to feel that way from memory, but there were some that felt the other way. I believe but the name escape me, that some left due to perceiving a lack of moderation. I also wanted to post and interact without given any differing consideration positive or negative. Some people on this site have been aware.

So, back to the locked threads. They may have started as a technical in nature thread, but they did not remain that way. Unfortunately the one where a photo of a girl revealing herself was asked for became a mudslinging match before I saw it. The other two were nipped in the bud the moment it became a tit-for-tat.

Now that I have 'come out' off my own back, I must say personally I am relieved. Laurie may feel different when he reads this and that will be a matter between he and myself. I will now be locking this thread but not deleting so everyone has the chance to see my admission. But if I maintain the opportunity to remain on my watch, this will be the first and last time I will answer to you regarding any moderating issues.
