This is from the GM at RMYS -
Some interesting reading from Terry Hart (Vagrant) whose career in the BOM generated an interest in abrupt wind changes in the northern waters of Port Phillip Bay.
A 20-year wind analysis of data from Fawkner Beacon revealed on average there were about 12 cases each year where there was a wind speed change of 16 knots or more in half an hour or less and in 4 cases the change was more than 30 knots.
