Any suggestions for a company to provide transit insurance for a timber yacht being trucked between locations in Australia ?

Surely the boat transporter would have insurance to cover it??

No. Two companies I spoke with said they were not legally permitted to offer transit insurance.
Many years ago they used to.

Dunno. I could see no benefit in pressing them for an explanation. They don't offer insurance. I'll just source it myself, hence the question.
My existing policy with QBE looked promising until I carefully read the PDS and searched the whole document for "transit". Then I discovered they only insure the boat if it is on a trailer AND on a trailer that has been designed for towing it. The trailer can be on a ship, a train, etc. Go figure that one. Insurance is such fun.
