Hi guys will have to do my antifoul and anodes etc soon. I have only done it once before in Albany. Very reasonable (couple of cartons) as my brother was/is the commodore down there. I'm in Mangles Bay Rockingham now. Have heard bad things about the Cruising Yacht Club from a previous member. Alternatives? Costs?
Experience with said club?
All contributions much appreciated.
Hi josusa.
I am at tcyc handstand.
To haul out and antifoul would be fine there.
If you are staying out for any length of time then you are probably better off joining.
You can sometimes hire jinkers depending on your boat.
If you want to come down for a look I would be happy to meet you there and give you the guided tour
I can recommend both the Mandurah Marina hardstand and Fremantle Sailing Club. I was a member of a Perth yacht club and have used both these hardstand areas. Both are professional and helpful.
Rockingham Cruising Yacht Club, however, were most unhelpful, uninterested and with a fat-fish-in-a-little-bowl mentality. To use their hardstand for a couple of days they wanted me to first join their club for $600. Then I could pay the haul out and hardstand daily costs. Ridiculous childish egos in play down there.

Hi RiffRaff,
thanks for your generous offer, that would be great.
I agree there are some very big egos there. Don't think you need to be a member anymore just pay a day rate.
That said it is very rough and ready.
You can also try Henderson. They are around $400 in out.
Hi Josusa,
If ever there was a reason to go for an adventure to Albany and back I think you have it. ![]()
Maybe also try Blue Hq in Freo. I have a cruiser in the racks there and have seen large vessels in there often. Also look at Northport. Im going to have have a look at lifting my yacht at Blue Hq soon if I can get a discount. Otherwise it will be Hillary's for me.

Hi Simmrr,
Had a really great trip up from Albany after the last antifoul. Not quite so keen to go the other way though. I have heard many stories of hell trips. Very unpleasant beats into SW. Still with a good window and some time....

Hi Toph,
I rang Henderson Boat lifters who said they don't have support structures for yachts any more and suggested Blue Hq.
I've never heard of them but will look them up now thanks. Will look at Northport too. Might as well price them all.
Thanks for your input.

Hi Zilla,
talked to a guy with a 3 legged dog on the beach at Mangles Bay and he had a big axe to grind re TCYC. Said he had seen a lot of boats damaged over the years he had been there.
He recommended Henderson but they don't have suitable jinkers. I have rung Freo Sailing Club but couldn't get onto the right person. Will have another go.
I utilise Fremantle Sailing Club every year and they are fine.
Hi Ilenart, Fremantle gets quite a lot of votes. What did it cost you last year per day and in and out if you can remember? My boat is a 30ft ally Adams weighing, so I'm told 4.4 ton.
Mandurah is excellent, with good access, drive in etc. trades and chandlery right there if you need them, $400 in and out with a pressure wash. About $25-30 a day. Ask for Harry.

I just had mine up at blue hq roughly 200 per lift , $40 per day. I normally haul out at the royal flying squadron yacht club but needed to be on the hard and their travel lift was out of action but they can still pull you up on a trolley ,providing you can get up the river , bridges etc

Hi Jayde28, up river is out for me as my boat was built in Queensland and has no mast lowering facility.

Last year for 5 days was around $500 all up. My yacht is 34ft weighing 4.6t. I'm a FSC member so non-members maybe charged a higher rate. Ring the club during business hours and ask for the works area. You normally see plenty of non-member and commercial vessels using the works area.

Thanks Ilenart I will check it out. Fremantle is definitely the closest to me as I am in Hamilton Hill so if its competitive I will probably go that way.
