Hi, We are sailing our new yacht purchase a Catalina 387, previously owned Catalina 320, so lots of learning to be done, (great excitement) from Brisbane to Sydney next week. We own a life raft, and it does seem rather sensible that it sails with us on this passage. Ideas how to transport it to Brisbane from Sydney? Freight companies I have asked are considering it a dangerous good. Thanks for your ideas and help

Can you lash it to the deck somewhere where it doesn't obstruct the sails?
It is dangerous because it might inflate unexpectedly. Can you disconnect the gas cylinders to eliminate this possibility in transit?
As wired as it sounds, I have seen a number of transport and towing requests put up on airtasker. Seems people doing road trips would look to offset some of the petrol costs by carting goods.
i haven't tried it myself, but just an idea. Cheers.
