Hey guys what or who would be the best v easy to get a box weighing 50kg from Tasmania to Sydney ? Just bought a Windvane from there it is boxed and to my amazement weighs 50kg I think the ply box is bullet proof, cause I hope the vane dosnt weigh that it's a Fleming 401

They only have the one depot in Tassy, but other courier companies would deliver to them. They are a retail business, so you don't need to be a business, unlike some other freight companies.
I have a Norvane windvane, very similar to the Fleming, being solid and heavy duty stainless steel. It is about 20kg, and flew here from California. All things are possible; there will be a local freight company with business links to deliver it to you, wherever you are. So long as it get into the receiving depot, from the seller.

Pack and send are over the top with their price. Cheaper to fly there and pick it up yourself. Try Couriers Please I think they operate in all states.
we just went through chasing reasonable price to sent a couple of boxes, across east coast.
quotes we were getting , not normal.
before we give up, we try something else.
drop of to closes depo they elocated , pick up similar , very happy , half price than the rest ,
Follomont Transport
Couriers Please are cheap for a reason!
Definitely the worst courier company in oz, if not the worst business!
check the reviews on the internet first before using them, I was very disappointed.....could have walked to the supplier and picked it up myself would have been quicker.
couriers Please.....No Thanks
I've had a couple of good experiences with E-go. All net based, competitive prices... as above, Pack & Send are very expensive.

My business has used Couriers please in Queensland regularly for years and never had a problem.
Was in interstate road transport for a lot of years till I sold to Toll a few years ago.
Tassie has a few differences as there's no bridge although things may have changed in last 10 years. No bridge?
a. Price would be secondary for me . I would be looking for one carrier point to point for personal item if possible.
If a small courier .
b. Ask how they ship off the island and how often. ie. by trailer on the Spirit or whoever
or by container. If by container be aware they will only send when it's full
and iff they are filling containers by State it may take a day or two to fill.
c. Is there tracking all the way.
d. who they use on the mainland.
e. Go by recommendation from a Taswegian who uses their services.
Address the item in clear bold letters on top and on the side. and if they supply address label with peel off barcodes put one on all sides.
Tas Freight or allalong both pretty good for bigger items i have used both shipping sailboards around ![]()

+1000 for TasFreight.
Where is it located? Might be able to assist :)
Hi Rumble it is just south of Hobart the gentleman I bought it off said he could drop at depot he got a quote down there but was very expensive compared to Tnt quote .
There is no huge rush as I still got to find an address to get it delivered to as I am transient on my boat .
$220 the best quote.
It would be almost that price to fly there and back, plus excess baggage on the return flight. And you get to meet the seller, check the quality and how to operate the windvane, and have a short overnight holiday there if you wanted to.
It's one option, depending on your time commitments.
Hey I'm driving to Sydney from Hobart in a few weeks. Reckon it will fit on the tray of the ute. I leave tas fri 21st and will be in syd late 22nd or early 23rd. Can probably drop off to your boat. Anyway let me know if you haven't already organised. Cheers Angus
Pack and send just quoted me $870
I just laughed and said thanks.
Best quote so far $220
Pack and send quoted me $100.00 to send a lap top computer from Darwin to Brisbane and that was not even express.
Thanks Angus i have to work out when i sail down to Sydney in Port Stephens finishing jp a few things on the boat.
Jode5 when he was working out the quote he says to me you will have to wait a while then I can get you athe cheapest price , so I get excited and say no rush cheaper the better them hits me with with the huge quote and that's with a two week wait !!!!!
As a matter of interest what's the size of the box.
The calc used to be road 250 kgs per cubic metre
or dead weight whichever is greater.
Thr basic fee for a one off would be at least $50 and the minimum
per consignment ,well that depends if they want the job.
