Hi all
Just wondering what you thoughts are on this one boatbrokers.com.au/boat-details/?de=45349
Regards Don
What did they pay for the other one at kermandie. You can buy the book on that one .
Hi Lydia
Not sure what you mean ?
What is the name of the one in the Kermandie ?
Have you had anything to do with them
I have had a bit of a google and there are some mixed reviews with people saying that the quality varies as some were owner finished off and that they are a bit slow in light airs
The one in the advert looks fairly tidy
Regards Don
Looks bloody neat mate.
A few thoughts and I'll compare to a few boats similar
- will be slower than a Mottle 33 but I like the interior and deck layout better
- looks easier to get to aft cabin than alot of boats her size
- in boom furling is not ideal IMHO with more people removing than installing. Will hurt performance by 5-10% to windward, both speed and pointing. Plus they can be touchy to use
- would probably be about the speed of a Huon 36 around the track
- instruments look old, no parts available forr repair
- same for furler, looks old. Don't know why you'd spend thousands on boom furler and havr ancient headsail furler
- doesn't mention standing rigging at all, so may be getting on. Mind you if mast had respray then you'd hope they replaced standing rigging.
Is it for you mate? I'm down that way Monday installing a furler so if you want me to have a quick look I can, or can organize a full check through work for a few $$.
Looks like a lovely boat from the pics. has a lot of goodies like wheel pilot nav. I note the furling on the boom mainsail. These are fine unless you want a full baton mainsail. On a cruising boat like this you don't need one. With respect to cockpit space, it shouldn't be too concerning unless you want to party when in open waters. When in enclosed waters, the deck at the stern and the stern seat would become popular.
I recall Osprey was painted sky blue and written off a few years ago after a run in with with a ship or land - and spent some time on the market as a repairable write off. She's obviously had a lot of work done, and may be better than before her incident.
I know the owner and her partner, lovely people. They've taken the time to prepare her properly for sale and haven't cut any corners. This will be a good buy for the right person.

Hi Rumblefish
In the advert it says that the standing rigging was replaced in 2013 so it is not that old
Thanks for the offer to take a look at her but we are back in Tassie tonight so I will have a look at her in the next couple of days and see what she looks like in the flesh and decide if we are interested enough to to go any further
Regards Don
Hi 2bish and all@sea
