After the 2011 earthquake in our area the ground sunk 1.2 meters. The amount of infrastructure reconstruction (underground sewage, water, cables) bridges ports etc was incredible and Japan will probably never recover from the economic damage. The latest quake on the west coast has pushed the ground up up to 3 meters in some places. The port in this pic would have had a low water depth of 2 meters.

The world is changing. It's a crazy scene.

Hope you and your loved ones are safe.

My youngest daughter was in Japan when the latest earthquake happened. Sssooooo grateful she arrived home to Oz yesterday safe and sound.

Another photo of the ground up lift on the West coast after the recent earthquake.
I wonder how long till the nav apps get updated.
5 meters rise in some areas.
All of that brown used to be below LWL. and the walls that you can see in the center were a fishing port.

That's incredible Gary. Imagine following Navionics into that port at night!
