Hi, What stovetops are people using. I was after a Metho stove but Origo no longer produce its metho stove 4100. Is there another brand that i don't know about. Does anyone have one for sale or know where i can get an Origo 2 burner stove.

I was thinking the same thing. I think the only way to find one is from a caravan/RV shop or chandlery in the US or UK.
Give it a little time. I'm sure a Chinese or Indian firm will bring out knockoffs.
I find that the Origo wick type metho stoves give off pungent fumes whereas the Maxie self preheating type burners do not suggesting that the Origo burner does not do a complete burn of the metho.
As far as I am aware Maxies are still in business but seem to be hard to get hold of.
I have a Maxie 2 burner complete with fiddle rail and pot holders that I am happy to sell as I have replaced it with a 2 burner kero stove.

I had heard lots of good news on the Origo stoves , so finally went to Whitworths and bought one, after using one I wouldn't buy one again .
Mainly because of the materials it is made from , compared to the old Maxi it is one step of tin foil showing wear from wiping and cleaning in the first month grab the one of Cisco

If you mix a very small amount of water to the Meths it burns cleaner
I have found that the Origo's tend to soot up the bottoms of the pots, probably due to not burning as hot as the Maxies, , I currently have a two burner metho by Ravia, I think it burns hotter than the Maxie, comparable to gas. But the burners on the Ravia seem a bit agricultural in comparison , the give a good roaring flame, but recently I had one of the burners spluttering and blowing itself out, don't know what caused it?? Possibly bad metho??
Took a little bit of money and a lot of elbow grease but I finally got my kero stove working well. Nothing like it for a good flame for cooking with the safer aspect of a liquid fuel. Even sideways 
^^^ That is throwing a beautiful flame and I bet it is hot enough to melt steel.
According to the official reports a burst of kerosene burning is enough heat to melt the steel support columns of a multi story building so you better be careful what you are doing with that kerosene and this is no conspiracy theory mind you.

Also have two burner Ravia that was unused for many years. One burner will still not give complete ring of flame otherwise does job for what I need.

I was hoping there would be something that looked a bit more modern, like the Origo. Looks like even the newer ones haven't changed much in 30 years. Although they have stood the test of time.
It would be nice to modernise the Galley but there might have to be some compromise.
Maybe a diesel stove top? My mate has a Wallace and it does the job nicely
