Thumbs Up

Hello all

Wondered if anyone had bought these stanchion bases from this company and had successful results. I assume so - they look sublime on their website, hope they are made here in Oz.

chain.com.au/collections/rail-fittings-stainless-steel

So would use 2 of these Whitworths type stanchions each side into the chain.com.au bases

www.whitworths.com.au/stainless-steel-stanchion-500mm

Then at the stern for the pushpit would make up a tripod stanchion each side with this Edcon tube (25.4mm OD, 1.6mm wall) as vertical and the 60degree chain.com.au bases and 3 way fittings which the vertical tube slides into......

www.edconsteel.com.au/store/products/steel/316-stainless-steel/round-tube-chs/stainless-316/316tub.25.16

The pulpit being the challenge - current plan is to get the Edcon tube and have it bent at around a 300mm radius, then go 45 deg down to the 45deg chain.com.au deck fittings. I can find stainless tube bend companies in Sydney but if anyone has had good experience with someone please advise.

Have to weld front post onto the fwd end of the pulpit to bolt down to the deck at the forestay fitting. Also weld tangs onto this pulpit to take the upper and lower lifelines, 1/2 way between the upper and lower lifeline heights................I tried to find a photo of such a pulpit which I have seen before but couldn't sorry.

Obviously to buy an all new pulpit/stanchions/ pushpit/lifeline system would be more than the boat would be worth..............
