<div>I have already replaced the ram and the flux compass and all the wiring and plugs but for some reason I still have problems with it. When I press auto it select that coordinate and stays there however the RAM keeps going and going and going and till it locks up turning the boat. I have a video of what it is doing however I don't know how to post a video
<div>I hope someone can help me
If you have the ST4000 set up on the port hand you will have to reprogram the control head. The procedure is set out in the user manual.
I set my ST2000 up on the Port side. Works perfectly well if you remember +and - are opposite
when on manual. Is your compass set up correctly??.
Hi Mopo
I have the st4000+, the entire unit consists of the display the compass and the ram. To set it up on the other side you just reverse the wires that go to the ram in other words there ar 2 small spade connectors that connect the ram to the control head, just reverse those so that the colours do not match.
Hope that helps
Mopo your video would have to be upload to another web site example youtube once its there you open up that page and copy and paste the web page link i seabreeaze with your mouse example below

Don't go reversing wires! You have to change the operating sense as per Phoenix's post.
I went through this brain tangle myself as mine operates the rudder trim tab.
It used to work fine. then just out of the blue it started displaying no data so I replaced the main plug then the ram then the compass now it doesn't display no data it just goes full to one way or the other.
I am a little disappointed as I should have used the hundreds I spent towards a new one.

Does the St2000 unit have a separate compass or is it built in. if it is a built in compass is it ok with a steel hull as the St 4000 hand book says that the fluxgate compass has to mounted 1.2 Meters above the deck on steel hull boats
