Well it seems that I have to replace the engine control lever on Seaka.

I have down loaded the Teleflex Morse and the Sea Star Solutions catalogues and can see the single lever sail engine controls suitable for my yacht.

At this stage the only source of these controls that I have found is at Whitworths [page 81 Cat no.34488] and the one pictured is from Sea Star Solutions but does feature in their catalogue. ???

Has anybody had experience with the WW item or is there a better one out there? The WW price seems to be OK.

I used the WW one. We replaced the Volvo engine in Trek and the old throttle and linkage was dodgy too so replaced that too.

It works fine. But the engine end connectors weren't "universal" enough and we had to make up some adaptors and drill a few holes.

Found the supplier,

Cannot justify that cost will be going the WW way as only 1/2 to 2/3rds the cost of Vetus!

[Final cost is depending on what I can reuse of present system. Will be replacing cables and lever, yet to check on ball joints. ]

HGO2, can I pay you a Dollar to get first go at your yacht when you get round to selling?

Well I've cut the new hole for the WW control BUT......

Trek, I need your help or anybody else that is in the know!

I have mounted the control vertically on the Port side with the intention of push forward for go forward and pull back for reverse.

I need to know what the Swedish instructions don't say.....

The throttle is set up with position 'A'. Is this correct or do I have to reset to position 'B' ??

For the gear cable on which side do I attach it??

Hope someone can help as WW had no idea!

That's not the answer I was looking for Southace, guess I'll just have to man up and do it by trial an error

Think about it NSW
when your gear box selects forward which way does the gear box lever go. Then look at the throttle gear lever and working for forward
Does your gear box selector lever need to be pulled or pushed for forward gear.
That's easy compared to sailing up and down the east coat like you have done
It also depends which side of the cockpit the lever is fitted
