Thumbs Up

Hello all

I am heading down south tomorrow and will be going to Jervis Bay or Shoalhaven heads. Does anyone have some good local knowledge of the bar in noreast conditions?

Alternatively, what about a nice spot in Jervis to stay for the night protected from the noreaster but not a big sail up the bay.

cheers

Phil

Phil,
Hopefully you mean Greenwell Point in on the Crookhaven and not Shoalhaven Heads. The last successful entry to Shoalhaven Heads was by Bass in 1797 and it did not get a good review. An old codger using navionics tried it a few years ago and was not successful. To get to Shoalhaven Heads enter the Crookhaven over the bar and proceed up past Greenwell Point. The bar can be exciting at times but only when it's a big run out tide with a fresh North Easter. Even then it should not be a problem with a large catamaran.
Target Beach just around from Point Perpendicular might suit if you are sure it's going to be a NE wind.
