Hi all...... new poster here with a technical question for people that know the cole 23 yachts

I own a Cole 23 fixed keel. The bottom is well overdue for a haul out and anti-foul. The self draining cockpit drains are 99% blocked. I am reluctant to stick a rod down the drain to unblock it as i fear that i might damage a thru hull fitting (if indeed it has one). From inside the boat i can see where the F/Glass drain pipe goes vertically from underneath the cockpit sole to the Hull......there doesn't appear to be a thru hull fitting but just extra fibre glass where the pipe meets the hull

So my question is........does the drain pipe simply connect to the hull and therefore no risk to sticking a pole down the pipe to clear the blockages....?????????

thanks guys in advance

Welcome to the forum.

There are no thru hull fittings, the 2 pipes are just glassed directly from the cockpit to the hull. Coat hanger wire is your best friend, just go gentle and keep twisting it to loosen the gunk.
