Hello all,
My partner and I just purchased our first rig- a used hobie 16. We are both complete beginners but have decent knowledge of how to read conditions and such.
We are currently moving to the mid north coast area (Crescent head) for work and are looking at where we can/should sail our new toy. Any recommendations?

I was thinking port Macquarie to begin with but am concerned that we could get washed out the channel due to the tide? Also, how about hat head?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Brad

Go down to Great Lakes Sailing Club at Forster/Wallis Lake. Perfect spot and plenty of helpers.

Just google views as I am out west...however to me it looks like great cat sailing area. Plently of places to explore....once you get a bit of experience why not head out of the rivers on the smaller swell days...

Not a huge choice of options really, Queens Lake is nice, at Laurieton, if your there on a Saturday arvo, there will be a small fleet of other cats, hobies and Maricats having a casual race.
