Hi all
Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about the S&s 36? Intending to get one and can not find any 1st hand experience. The intended use is costal cruising and occasional blue water.
Thanks

I have no experience with the SS36 but I would own one in a heartbeat! There is also an SS37 down in Tasmania for sale. Older design but very nice.

Nice boat the 37, very different then 36. 37 is like a larger 34, the 36 deep keel (2.1) no skeg and taller mast, larger beam, small overhang fractional rig and overall heavier.
Built in WA by Prestige Yacts (who ever they are, can not find any info on them) and only a hand full were built. Any info would be great.

One of the members of this forum sold one recently for 42 grand. He was a retired fisherman from Tasmania and sailed her to north Queensland. Name escapes me at the moment but Cisco looked after the boat for awhile while it was for sale. Search back through the forum and there will be plenty on this particular boat and photos. Delightful boat and I would have loved to have bought her. There was one for sale down Batemans Bay way but can not see it listed at the moment. One sold on Sydney harbour a couple of years ago for 25 grand. Bit untidy but would have been a good boat.

OK I just found her.

There is an S&S 36 down here in Tassie going cheap. Was inline fractional rig with runners and the chain plates have been moved aft to do away with the runners.

As far as I know it just needs all bolting back together and new rigging and paint. Price is around $10-$15K I think.

Was on Gumtree but can't see now. Can get the guys details if you're interested

Congratulations, was that one in Burraneer Bay?
if it is, it was moored next to me. But I've moved to Gunamatta, PH is a bit shallow for me. What does she draw?

cheers Richard

Yes she is, and unfortunately she draws 2.1m so, have to watch the tide very carefully. As Blue Moon said very fast and definitely a handful single handed. Still, a sharp learning curve and lots of fun ??
