My type of yacht. Just can't justify buying a bigger boat.

That vessel moved to the top of my list after someone bought that Swan 44. Still another Swan 44 for sale in Sydney though for those that dream of a lottery win.

I just went through it today.

Externally great. Good bones too. All timberwork below needs cleaning up.
Sails a bit old but functional. Hf is crusty old thing and only 90 litres fuel. Bilge had a fair bit of diesel in it.
Bolt on keel. Very solid boat. Looks to need about $25k to head for a crossing.
None of the instruments work (log wind etc) but new AIS and plotter. Very old auto pilot. Gas bottle hung over stern.
Lot of work needed for this to be a comfy offshore boat but will put in an offer in the next few days.

The TMQ4 autopilots are excellent.

I'm putting in an offer in next day or 2.
Last boat had coursemaster and that went great. Never a problem. Will check out the tmq.
Currently has a very old hydraulic system that's very solid but would like a second for crossings as a backup.

Mate!!! If there is no money left after you buy it,.............you cannot afford it.

If you are going to buy a Porche you need to be able to afford the price of a Porche mechanic.

Further, if the cost/value of a yacht is more than 10% of your nett worth, you also cannot afford it.

The above advices are "left brain thinking" i.e. logical, sage and wise.

If your "right brain thinking" i.e. illogical, emotional and pleasure seeking dominates, you could be headed for ruination of dreams and finances.

I have been down both of those roads and recommend the former rather than the latter.

Hey Cisco thanks for your concern but you need not worry.
My personal and financial circumstances aren't really something I'm going to detail here but it's enough to say that I will be more than ok, and perhaps more was read into my comment than need be, as it is reflective of a budget set aside for its purchase.

Cisco, I've got the boat and a Porsche and I can tell you the Volvo boat mechanic is more expensive.

Looking good. I'm heading back for survey and sea trial next week so hoping completed by end of March.
If anyone is in the area at the time it'd be good to lift a glass with you and say hi.
