Can anyone give me the lowdown on Robe please? Specifically current state of silting and are there conditions when getting in is difficult/dangerous/impossible? I'll call the council to suss out the marina berth situation nearer the time.
Cheers,
Jon
I ran aground at the entrance 14 months ago just after passing the movable Port mark. After realising it would be also low tide in the morning of my early departure I decided to anchor out the front.
on my return trip 2 weeks ago I was informed by the office that the entrance had been dredged and the hydrographic chart was sent to me with a bunch of helpful info. However I decided again to anchor out the front.
the conditions was Strong South Easterly with some SW swell. I tucked up in between the caravan park and the foreshore pub in about 4 meters of water and slept a good 12 hours before my early morning departure the following day.
Southace , Did you mean the "Seavu" Caravan park? we will be heading that way in a few weeks and it is nice to know
that there is an option other than the marina (weather permitting) was there much of a roll with the swell when you were there?
Thanks
Tony

Between the marina entrance breakwater and a caravan park (not sure the name) . There's a floating swimming platform and a row of Norfolk pines I just tucked up close to beach . Very little roll in SE-E winds.
