I hope this is the right place for this.

I am looking at getting back into sailing. I use to sail Optis and 420s on a freshwater lake when I was younger and haven't done much since.

Now I am wondering how best to go about it, I am guessing joining a sailing club would be one option but I am not into racing.

Another question I have is regarding licencing. I had a look online and couldn't see anything regarding sailing, is the rec skipper ticket enough?

Thanks.

You required to hold a RST if operating a powered craft of 6HP or greater. Sailing craft there is no requirements however you may benefit from doing an Adult Learn to sail course as a refresher or just to meet others.
Best way to get back into sailing is to join a local club and sign up as a crew.
If racing is of no interest you may at least create some networks within like minded people. Twilight sailing is a good way to get back on the water with no pressure.
There are lots of clubs with low cost membership options but always best to be as convenient in location as possible.
