After 30 years, the tiller finally broke last week. Other than doing it myself, any suggestions on finding a replacement?

When I replaced my Elliot tiller the cheapest at that time was a laminated wood rudder craft one from the US. There are many versions and you should be able to find one to match. Coming laminated and finished with gloss varnish it has lasted well.

Go on, do it yourself. There is almost no job better than building a tiller. You can use alternating layers of wood and even include some wood from someone special - maybe an old bit of your uncles shed or something. Layers of laminated timber, epoxied, planed and sanded and then varnished. A job of joy all round, rare in a boat project.

Guess if you post as below someone could assist or even have a spare one. As per Phil such a tiller is not hard to build - I (and team) have built 2 in the last few years - for a lightweight 1.2tonne 1/4 tonner and 25ft 2.2tonne clunker..............both turned out perfect
