The Admiral was walking doing some exploring around Rathmines last weekend when she came across a guy giving a talk about Lake Macquarie in the refurbished community centre. His name is Scott Bevan, a former ABC journalist, who has written a book about the lake, called The Lake. He has spent a number of years travelling around by kayak researching the history and compiling stories by the locals.

She brought a copy of the book and it has been a good read so far. He has also written a book about Sydney Harbour, but they didn't have any left. Will have a look for it after I have finished this one.

Yep, worth looking for as it's a good read. "The Harbour, a city's heart, a country's soul" Simon and Schuster, 2017.
