Can anyone recommend an iphone app they have been using for racing? I mainly use an app for timing the start. I have been using iTicTac, which has been great. However unfortunately I see that is has not been upgraded to 64bit so as soon as I upgrade to iOS 11 it will stop working.

Free would be nice, however happy to pay for a decent app.

Anyone have experience with iRegatta?

Thanks, Ilenart

What do you have to muck around with apps for??

My old Nokia C2-01 has a stop watch and countdown timer built in and it does all sorts of other fancy shizz too like play your music on a bluetooth speaker, takes pics, vids and sound recordings you can download or send to other people and you can even make phone calls with it and send text messages too!!

What more could you need??

Last time I saw my old Nokia it was in the kid's toybox :)

I've gone with iRegatta, looks pretty good.

Using a phone for a timer risks losing it overboard.... I know :-)

On Ebay you can get a loud speaking count down timer for $29. It anounces 10 min, 5 min, 1 min, then seconds. We lost a few of those too but cheaper than phones.

I've used RaceQs. Available on both Android & iOS, measures a bunch of things as well as timing.

Best of all, it can be uploaded to their website and overlaid on a spiffy map like this: raceqs.com/tv-beta/tv.htm#userId=1028151&divisionId=49662&updatedAt=2017-09-17T09:54:11Z&dt=2017-09-17T13:55:28+10:00..2017-09-17T15:53:24+10:00&boat=Kraken&model=J24

I ended up getting a Lifeproof waterproof cover with the matching bike holder. I've mounted in on the binnacle just above the Plotter. Is rock solid, we actually had a collison with another yacht on the weekend that bent a stanchion. The phone never moved. The bike holder was $45.

So far iRegatta is working fine, the ability to pin the start and end of the line so you get a countdown for distance is handy.

Very nifty!

Would make for a good plotter / vng etc display too. I think I'll get one.
