Doing a service on my furler this morning and I dropped one of the grub screws overboard. It's one of the two that hold the sleeve in place.

Is this a Profurl part?, or can I get it from any engineering shop?

Thanks

G'day Azure,
That's looks like a grub screw dog point. I can't see any issue with third party options.
Profurl are French , so it stands to reason it's metric. A pitch would most likely be 1.25 or 1mm.
If you haven't got any ability to measure pitch, take your other one to Bunnings and try it on a few different nuts to find out OD and pitch. You might get lucky and find there is only one pitch for that size

Edit: I didn't check the link to see if their stainless, sorry, but it gets you started.
Edit edit: Loctite blue is a must for these things.

Thanks Shaggy, The originals don't appear to be s/s unless they are coated in the black you see in the pic. They did come out quite readily after not being touched for 2-3 yrs that I know of. At least I now know what I'm looking for.

Edit: Could I keep sailing with just the 1 in place until I get a replacement?

I just picked up two of the same screws for my Profurl. Called Wichards and they gave me the part number and then I ordered through my local Whitworths. Took less than a full day to get to Whitworths. The guys at Wichards are great. Cheers Bill

Brilliant! Thanks Bill, I think I'll be doing exactly the same.

If you search Google for Profurl manuals or parts you get zip, nothing, nada, but the Wichard site-
www.wichard.com.au/profurl/
has detailed manuals, specs and parts lists for most models readily available. A little down the homepage, past the sales blurb. I'll still be calling them tho

Edit: downloadable pdf files

I sailed with none and only worked out what the problem was after having furling problems in high winds. So should be OK with one or none for a short time.

They are a titanium grub screw, as above call Wichard Pacific who are on the ball and will have it sorted before the call is finished.

Thanks Jack and Brett. I've been in contact with Wichard. Sent an email with pics on Friday night and got a response back on Saturday. They certainly are on the ball. I expect to have the parts in a few days.

Thanks everyone.
