Realise this is not sailing but have to give huge credit to the crew of Pacific Dawn here. The cruise ship industry has had their moments globally over the years but this effort has to be lauded.

A yacht sank so certainly pertinent to this forum. Well done to the Pacific Dawn crew. Competition is fierce in the cruise ship industry and they go to extraordinary lengths to provide entertainment for passengers! I bet there was plenty of discussions around the evenings formal dining room tables.

Wow! Buy an old mooring minder. Contract with a cruise line to sink her for the passengers entertainment and get rescued in front of the crowd. What a money maker.
Now. Who is in it with me? I will be the on shore manager, of course.

It was a large power boat not a sailing boat. TV footage showed it half sunken with its bow pointing up.
