Hi
I just bought a 38ft Cutter Rig Momo Hull.

She is motor less. It previously had a Hydrolic driven outboard which was removed along time ago. An expensive way to power a boat I hear.

Im guessing my easiest way to but a motor on her will be an OutBoard and cheapest?

Is it possible to put an outboard on a boat this size?

It already has a bracket from the previous motor?

What would I be looking at? Size/ prop if possible.

Given that it already has a fuel tank in the keel I was thinking of a Deisel Genset and an electric out board.

Any thoughts and opinions?

Cheers Chris

What is the hull construction?

If its steel or alloy I would consider fitting a stern tube and an electric drive to go with that Genset.

Outboards are a bit of a pain. Fine in smooth water but you will always have the risk of someone stealing it!
