I have a revolutionary idea that would dramatically improve speed, comfort and stability withing all types of sailing vessels. I am looking for advice on how to get my idea out there without it being stolen?

Ok I promise I won't.
What is it?
If it's called shouting at the crew, it's already been tried with varying success.
You can get onto the IP (Intellectual Property) Australia website and for about $50.00 submit a draft application and they'll give you feedback on whether it'll get up. After years of effort you'll get your idea licensed in Australia, so it'll then only be stolen by the rest of the world.
Broke - I am sorry to say this but you are almost certainly wrong. There have been many new ideas produced in sailing and very few have made anyone any money. Unless you are a very experienced builder or designer I doubt that your idea is novel. Even canting keels, winged keels and hydrofoils were invented decades before they became popular.
Have fun inventing if that is your thing and you can always put in a provisional patent. This is pretty cheap. It gives you one year of protection but you have to apply for a full patent before the year is up. I have three patents.
I have been down this road. I invented a new method for folding a catamaran for trailing. It has taken me over a decade, too many thousands and too much time away from my family to get excited by your comments. If I could go back in time and slap myself about the head every time I thought of designing and building my folding cats I would. Probably the worst decision of my life to think I had something valuable to offer.
But go ahead if you want.

Broke, Sorry, but you sound like a troll. Why would you post to a sailing forum questions related to IP? Kankama and Bushdog gave you sound advice, I'd take notes.
Question: If you can come up with a revolutionary breakthrough for "all" sailingboats that needs IP protection, how come you can't seemingly find IP Australia and/or a patent lawyer?
Sorry, doesn't wash. Getting a patent is relatively easy, getting it from an idea to commercial reality is utterly another level.
The concept of buying a bigger yacht is as old as yachting itself. It's not something that could be patented.

Allright you wise guys...give the newby a break!
I will ask the obvious question........to Brokesailer ( who can't spell sailor )
How many $$'s do you want me to invest in your revolutionary idea?
