Found this at work and wondering if it will do as a mooring anchor. Not sure about the Rio rusting away.Any thoughts? It's for my little Swanson Dart 22 Cheers.

looks bigger than the mooring block i had holding my h28 it withstood 60knt winds no problem
the rio bar diffidently looks dodgy and would rust away in no time in the water i think
The rio would probably last 20 years. Use a cheap Chinese shackle moused with an electrical tie and replace the shackle regularly. I would suggest digging in the concrete so the chain does not wrap around the block.
Concrete becomes surprisingly light under water - I'm not sure of it's specific gravity. Better with some seriously old-fashioned cast iron - such as a train wheel. And bed it in to the bottom so as not to foul the chain. Heavy cast iron naturally stays bedded in too.
Have you got a mooring permit yet? If not when you get one there might allready be mooring tackle in place. I was lucky with mine cost me a carton of beer from previous owner, and saves him having to remove it
Also i got a diver to inspect it and it was good for another couple of years

No, no mooring allocation as yet. Waiting, waiting, waiting. I have an Ad on Gumtree for a "wanted mooring apparatus "
