Hi,

Looking for recommendations from fellow sailors for a refit on a fibreglass sloop. I'm in Sydney Harbour but will consider travel for the right people. Looking for good trades people who take pride in their work, in the following areas:

1. Annual haul out and anti foul. Lots of options, any one that stands out in your experience?

2. Fibreglass and composite repairs.
My chain well is starting to go soft. Other general Gelcoat / flowcoat repairs interior and exterior.

3. Interior fitout / carpentry for the galley. Do they still exist?

4. Stainless steel fabrication. Hand rails, solar panel arch, bow cap/plate.

5. Paint - Deck and cockpit.

Many thanks in advance.

Evan.

That's a big list of jobs you have right there - what is your budget expectation and timeline for all that?. In my recent experiences the below two stand out; they may not do all those tasks in house but will surely be able to advise suitable sub-contractors and manage these if required................

Mitch at BMS Woolwich Dock is absolutely top shelf

As is Tim down at Kogarah Bay

Thank you for your input. I have a budget of $25-30K, and will spend it from most to least important. If it runs out, will wait it out till I save up some more. I don't have a strict timeline, other than the anti-foul which is now due.

As you say, I'm was not expecting for a one stop shop, happy to travel to address each. So if there are people out there worthy of a mention, keen to hear from you. Private message is also ok.

Thank you.

Ok good plan. 1, 2 and 5 should be straightforward. For the galley one of these should suit;

For the stainless work David Eggins is good - assuming he is still working. Taren Point area. Tim at Endeavour Boat Shed may still use him.

Viking Marine are good,
