Marauder 27 aft keel sump items - appreciate identification advice. See attached photos of rusted t tube pieces in the aft keel sump. It would be appreciated if an M27 owner could provide photos of their aft (and forward) keel sumps, and advise what these items are. We are aware that the lead ballast keel is fully encapsulated. All we can think of is that the lead ballast was made in two blocks and this aft block had these items cast into the top of the block so as to enable lowering down into the grp keel. Held there with thickened resin and the top of the block resined over also, with suitable woven or chopped strand e-glass laminates. The fwd keel sump is very clean, and has no such items. Look forward to photos and comments. Thanks in advance.

Probably to lower cast ballast into hull. Have you got the standard wheel steeling? If so check the rudder tube. Known to spring a leak at the lower end due to high sideways load from steering cable.
Did you just buy this boat?
Thanks - yes that is what we surmised - these will be completely removed and the holes epoxy filled and glassed over. Standard wheel steering. Mate just bought it I helped sail it down to new port. The lower rudder bearing is loose as you say.
