With a cyclone approaching Lord Howe, I wondered if the anchorage was survivable in the forecast winds. Hopefully it will weaken before it gets there, but what would you do? Leave now and run?
According to Windy.com, the centre of the cyclone will pass close to Lord Howe early on Friday Morning, and will batter the Island with southerlies. AFAIK, the lagoon opens to the south. I suggest that it is too late to try to out-run it, so your best bet would be to let out a lot of chain on the boat, and get ashore for shelter.
