I'm currently searching for a 14-20 hp diesel engine to replace a problematic existing Albin 021 petrol engine in my old Clansman 30.
The problem is, as I'm searching all the usual internet pages, Gumtree, eBay, Facebook marketplace & trading post, I'm coming up with nothing it's disappointing! Yes there are a number of new engines and reconditioned engines available, but what I am looking for is something on a bit of a budget, something I could perform an overhaul on myself, before installation.
Where are they? are they sitting in peoples sheds or rotting away on old mooring minders? I don't know!
I'd greatly appreciate it, If anybody could assist me in my search.
Old tired motors usually get replaced with new ones and the mechanics that do the work probably recondition them and sell them at near new price. So what you are looking for is rare.

You see second hand motors on Gumtree all the time
Another option is contact marinas or local dealers buy the motor they are replacing.
