Quite possibly, but has anyone seen a boat like that going upwind in rough water at all? Just want to know for my education.

I need educating too. Why wouldn't it go uphill ???.
Has a bit of the L. Francis Herreshoff look about it. At first glance I thought it was 'Enchantress' which is a Herreshoff 45, see below.
