I'm changing my house AGM battery's to 12V 120Ah Power Cell Lithium Battery LiFePO4 120A Phosphate BMS, keeping the start battery's with CAT Deep cycles. Has anyone had any experience with this set up?
lithiem has dropped in price dramatically so I think it's the way to go now.
Not personally, but you will find the details of other Jeanneau 349 owners' experience with batteries including a recent lithium battery install on Lake Macquarie at jeanneau349.freeforums.net/thread/217/batteries-maintenance
Sorry, that's a very long thread. The lithium install features on page 7. jeanneau349.freeforums.net/thread/217/batteries-maintenance?page=7

Thanks bit of a richmans forum, from what I read they come factory direct with exide battery's the same I have been using and wasting! I will do what one has done on that forum and install 4x 130amp lithium for house and keep my start cranks at 2x 100 amp Cat deep cycles. Hopefully I will get a good life out of my new set up! Will still keep the 600 amp exide Agms in the bow which the loo is hard wired to and maybe if I fit a bow thruster they can be in control of this.
Will you have the two different battery types on different recharging systems? Wet cell and AGMs don't charge well together. I'd be concerned about AGM and lithium..

Agm start and the lithium house will get charged from engine alternator @ 14.4.
Mppt Victron solar charger set to lithium for 14.6 abosorbtion as required.
Agm from what I'm reading is much the same charge stats as the lithium.

Can't help South but I can tell you you're going to enjoy picking it up. The weight difference is incredible. You probably know but I was surprised at the 11.2 cutout because they sit at 12 for ages and then the drop off is quite sudden. The great thing is the inbuilt battery management.

I just installed a 400ah battery (ev power 4 x 100 ah in parallel) I kept the charging seperate with one dedicated charge controller for trickle charge and ran the alternator through a dc to dc victron charger for charging ( was told It wasn't needed but installed it anyway for safety) I have to manually switch over to charge the lithium's but I don't mind this system as I find the solar is keeping up 90% of the time

Thanks , yes just watched a vid on the dc dc Victron. I suppose I need to purchase one of them as well. It never seems to end.
