Hey guys about to start the process of rewiring the boat and still trying to decide between lithium or agm

Im sold on the idea of lithium just not the initial price tag ? Does anyone recommend a brand of lithium that's not top of the line like victron but still quality ? Probably looking at 3 x 100 ah (house bank) or the other option is AGM which would be a lot simpler install and initial price. Or do I spend the money on good quality AGM and go with what I know and has been tried and tested.cheers

I sure I'm right with this;
Most Lithium have onboard controllers so shouldn't be too much more onerous to install.
100Ah AGM discharge to 50% and last x years
100Ah Lithium discharge to 90% and last 10x years and weight 1/2 to 1/3 which is quite an advantage unless they are doubling as ballast...
I've bought a couple of small 32Ah from Jaycar and don't work them hard but love the portability. Tuck the battery under one arm and the electric outboard under the other. One on charge on the boat one at home.

Yep there is a few issues and (I am certainly no expert!!! ). with the way lithium absorbs power and protecting the alternator which I believe can be fixed by running a dc to dc charger between the alternator.
And I know they are cheaper in the long run but @ $1600 for a battery that's quite a outlay !! There is cheaper ones but not sure of the quality ???

I got my 100ah from Low Energy Developments. Was cheap and even cheaper with an eBay promo in conjunction. Helpful and smart guys who have been in the industry since the start.

GenZ, based in Perth I believe. Designed and assembled here in Australia. They have been extensively tested in all different scenarios and they just perform. Sa power networks did heaps of testing on them and are now rolling them out to replace their existing setups. BHP are using them in remote monitoring situations and the military are also using some I heard. Their bms is designed to drop straight in to existing setups, so no need to upgrade your charger. I have 10x100ah in my boat, absolutely love them. If you want any more info or can't find a retailer get in touch and I might be able to help you

cheers
Josh

EV power also have 15kw plug and play electric marine motor which would suit most boats up to 40ft

Thanks Tregs

I sent them a email they haven't got back to me yet, I think I'm going to go with ev power, I made the fatal mistake last night of mentioning to my girlfriend what else we could run if I upgraded the battery bank !! she has grand ideas maybe I could rig a battery monitor to show a false reading
