Hi all

I don't suppose anyone has one of these floating about they want to sell so i can keep my Sailmaster original

It is 145 mm long overall and fairly light weight stainless and is used on the anchor well cover

Thanks in advance

Regards Don

Hi all

I found a similar hinge (good news) www.norfolkmarine.co.uk/s-s-full-strap-hinge-32-x-145mm but it is in the UK (bad news)

Just in case anyone else ever need these hinges after lots of googleing and looking around Hobart and not having any luck I have ordered two of them from the uk

David B from Norfolk Marine was very helpful supplying measurements of the hinge and hole centres and they are identical

Hi Don
I think it is a really good idea to hunt down original parts.
My anchor well hatch looks terrible.
It has had at least three different hinges with the resulting holes.
Another little job when I get around to it.

Looks a lot like a Viadana 49.03

Seems there are a bunch of UK distributors. Search also for "7-34006" or "34006".

There is an Oz agent, but may not end up being cheaper .. www.gonesailin.com.au

Hi Crewloose

What happened was that that Norfolk Marine in the UK sent me a couple of photos of the hinge with a ruler beside it and I saw the Viadana brand name on the hinge

I then Googled Viadana Australia and then found the Gonesailin website and spoke to Mike (he is in WA) and he checked and didn't have any in stock and said if he ordered them from Italy by themselves (he didn't have anything else he needed to order) the cost of freight would be a fair bit and he suggested that i buy them from Norfolk Marine as they had them in stock

I probably could have used something else and filled the original holes and drilled new ones but it is nice to keep it original

Both Mike at Gonesailin and David at Norfolk Marine have been great to deal with for something that is not worth a lot of money so it has been a good outcome

No worries Don. I'm trying to build up some goodwill credit to pay for the many questions I have yet to ask..

No worries

I probably should have started my original reply to you with "thank you for the information"
