Last week I sailed from sydney to Botany Bay to go onto the slips . Nice sail down 5.5 knots under mizzen and jib . Anti fouled , replaced some rigging , removed old fuel tank and some other bits and pieces . Picked up a mate from the wharf to come home and lost reverse gear . Still had forward and the sails so off we went . Got to middle harbour , picked up a mooring and waited for the spit bridge to open . The msb were checking on most of the tinnies running around so I called them over and explained that there was a chance I may not be able to engage forward gear to get under the bridge . They nicely waited around till it was time for me to leave the mooring and happily I still had forward gear . It turned out the key on the prop had sheared . I pulled it off the year before and checked every thing , now I know do it every year and check every thing below the water line before it goes back in . It was an uncomfortable sail home . Very choppy and wind moving all over the place , a pod of dolphins kept us company for a while so that made up for the conditions . A few pics of my trip , no dolphins as I was to busy watching to go and get camera . Oh and I gave up trying to get pics right way up sorry.
