I've have all Lin and Larry's books. I got their philosophy of cruising and in the fullness of time they were right. 'Go simple go early' .
Anchored in Suva off the yacht club in 1997 I realised there were two types of cruising people: the sabbatical 'get it done in some time off' types and the longer term cruisers who kept things simple.
I even liked the engineless philosophy the Pardey's espoused; after all sailors had done this for many centuries.
Each to his own though, but the Pardey's did it their way and after all; they've done more sea miles than most of us have had hot dinners.
Larry was very particular but he was also generous.
Vale Larry Pardey.

Vale Larry Pardey.
You gave so much to so many.
Yep, him and Lyn, both legends...
I am sad that one of my heroes has gone. He made the sailing world a richer place. Condolences to Lyn
