Kill Rust on board

Hi, I have keept the can of "kill rust" for maybe a year or more, no real need to keep it on board but I did, OK.
No idea what triggered corrosion, would blame ingredients because NO OTHER chemicals containers stored in the same box-shelf containing different chemicals were not open/leaking or in another way be involved in Aluminium can corrosion.

ironic ............she should put that story in the lyrics of the song !!! because your story is actually ironic !!!

im guessing it was galvanic, between the aluminium can and the steel strap on your paint brush that was held onto the can.

It wouldnt have taken much for the can to be stored on its side, a little salty water...
